Yesterday was a busy day full of wonderful moments for us! Jordan and I both spoke in church on how we receive blessings from attending our church meetings and it sure was nice to get that over with. We haven't spoken in church together since we were first married and I really wasn't sure if I even remembered how to speak in front of people. It actually went pretty well and I even enjoyed the opportunity to share my thoughts of how thankful I am for the church in my life. We were also in charge of nursery snacks, which we remembered that morning and quickly scrambled something together, only to find out that they really weren't needed. And we hosted the family birthday dinner at our house that night. Lots going on in one day for us, but we sure enjoyed all of it!
The August Birthdays that we celebrated were for Jordan, Amanda and Emily (my cousins). We had yummy taco salads for dinner, lemonade and a real special treat - milkshakes for desert. My Uncle Bruce whipped up 18 milkshakes that night and boy were they good! They are kind of a signature treat for the Germaine family and we LOVE them!
My favorite part was watching all of the kids run around and play and have SO much fun! Bentley was even in on the action crawling as fast as she could as they raced around all the corners of our house! All my cousins are so dang cute and I love that Taylor gets to play with them!
We finished off the night by opening presents, watching a little bit of the movie, The Sandlot (because my little cousin, Jackson can repeat almost the ENTIRE movie and it's SO funny), and we watched the closing ceremony of the Olympics as the kids continued to entertain us with their dance skills. Everyone wanted to see Taylor do some of her gymnastics, but she was being shy for some reason and didn't want to reveal her true talents. Regardless, we had such a great night and overall a wonderful Sunday!
