Another painting adventure at The Hill Home...

After living in our home out here in Goodyear for 7 months we finally painted our sweet little Bentley's room! What color? PURPLE of course (with a few other girly touches)! It turned out so nice and I love how it feels when you walk into her room. It's such a peaceful, pure feeling being in there. We think she likes it too because she started pointing at the walls right after we finished as if to say, "Yeah, my room is so pretty!" This was a fun project for us and I really think Jordan is especially grateful for the opportunity to paint the walls of our home pink and purple. I'm so thankful for such a loving, patient and all around wonderful husband! He really does take such great care of us girls!

I did have to share one story about this painting experience. Although Bentley's room is pretty simple, it actually took us a few days to complete. We decided to brake up the process into steps since she takes two naps a day in that room and goes to bed at 7:30 pm each night so our time was very limited. The first night we painted the accent wall light pink and that was all we were going to do. We figured 2 hours tops with prep, painting and clean up. Still a lot of time, but we try to be practical when doing a project with two little helpers by our sides. Taylor was playing so happily by the "UNOPENED" paint can while holding the paint can opener. She likes pretending it's a key. (She loves keys) Anyway, we didn't even have to worry about her figuring out how to open the paint can - no way would she know how to do that. SURPRISE! Jordan went to give the can one last shake before starting to paint and sure enough PINK PAINT EVERYWHERE! And when I say everywhere, I mean EVERYWHERE! Bentley in the meantime was playing peacefully in her crib with some toys - now she was covered with paint from head to toe and so was her not-so-innocent sister. The crib, the floor, the chair - you name it. I don't have any pictures because it required immediate cleaning, but it was quite the site. I jumped in the shower with the girls and Jordan cleaned up the room. What a team! Our 2 hour project remained a 2 hour project even with out little mishap. Thanks to Jordan he knocked out the job pretty quick! I really should NEVER underestimate what Taylor is capable of doing. She's a smart girl! I felt so bad because she was so upset about it. She couldn't stop saying, "I'm sorry! I'm so so sorry!" Poor girl! Guess what Tay? It wasn't your fault! You were just trying to help!

Our little helpers!

This was right before the paint explosion! Basically everything you can see was covered with pink paint! Including the kids!

Painting Day #2 - the purple walls. We were lucky to have our little helpers again!

Bentley's room all finished!
