5 Months Old!

Bentley is officially 5 months old! CRAZY! I took her to the doctor last week for her 4 month checkup and shots. It was our first time going to this doctor's office since we moved to the West Valley. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the visit. The nurse took me through an entire in-depth evaluation of how Bentley is doing. She is doing SO many fun things right now. I love watching her continue to try to roll over. She's done it several times now, but it seems like she sometimes forgets how she did it. My favorite thing that she is doing right now is grabbing and holding things. It's so fun to see her concentrate, get so excited and then hold what she was reaching for. As a mother, no matter what the accomplishment - you are proud of your children!

During the exam the nurse used a laptop which showed me a graph of where Bentley fell on the percentile chart compared to other babies her age. And here are the results:
Bentley Reese Hill as of 2/12/08
WEIGHT: 12 lbs. 1.5 oz (10% - 25% for her age) She's gained a whopping 5 lbs since birth.
LENGTH: 26 inches (This puts her slightly above the 95% for her age) Just like Tay!

I always hate when they have to get shots, but she was tough and got through it! Taylor was right there with me and watched Bentley receive her shots. I had to explain to her that Bentley had some "owies" but that she was going to be okay! Although I could tell that Taylor didn't like to see her baby sister cry I think she was more concerned about why she didn't get cool band-aids for HER legs. The rest of the day she kept telling me that she had owies and she needed a band-aide. I asked her,"Oh, you do? Did you get shots today?" And she would nod her head and tell me, "Ah huh." Well Crazy kid got her wish! She was playing in our lovely dirt backyard later that day - running a little too fast - fell and scrapped both knees. The rest of the evening Bentley & Taylor both sported pretty little band-aides on their battle wounds. Our girls are tough princesses!

Bentley's Eyes
I also asked this doctor if I should have any concerns with Bentley's eyes. She took a good look at them and said everything looked fine. She just has a different pigment to them. She also said that they might still change, but only time will tell. I'm not really worried because I know that she can see great because she is SO alert and follows objects with ease. I've just never seen a half brown half blue eye before.

Bentley is such a happy baby! Here are a few pics of her just having fun! You can also see her eye color pretty good - still half brown & half blue!

Playing a little football!

She is our little wiggle worm!

Put me in coach...I'll score a touchdown!

Both girls with their battle wounds.

Beautiful band-aides!

Bentley at the end of the day.

Taylor at the end of the day (of course falling asleep before dinner).

What is it with these girls and bandaids? Kenadee LOVES bandaids too. I think I should start buying the regular boring bandaids instead of Barbie or Hello Kitty, and maybe then I'll stop seeing bandaid wrappers all throughout the house. I go through at least 1 box a month. I hate when they have to get their shots. Poor Bentley. Especially on those skinny little legs. And the nurses do it so carelessly...I HATE IT! And I just love Bentley's eyes. THEY'RE BEAUTIFUL!!!
