Painting is scary.....

Something VERY scary happened to us on Saturday night! We started painting a few areas in our house on Saturday morning and basically worked all day and into the night. Painting is a much bigger job than it looks and with two little rugrats to entertain that adds to the length of time it takes to do things. Nonetheless we had a great time painting as a family and adding a splash of color to our walls!

The SCARY PART.....
It had to have been after 9:00 pm and we were still working on the prep work down our hallways to get ready for paint which we were planning on doing within the next couple of days. Bentley was already asleep and Taylor was in bed, but wide awake. She kept opening her door and peeking out at us to see what we were doing. We were right outside her door so I can't really blame her for wanting to stay up with us. I went into the kitchen to wash my hands and walked back down the hall to give Taylor the thumbs up that she was allowed to come out of her room and hang out with us for a little bit. The hallway was dark except for the light from the girls' bathroom and the light coming from the study area. I saw something run across the floor by my foot and my first thought was, "Oh Gosh there's a bug." I yelled this to Jordan so that he could help me kill it. He quickly turned on the hallway lights and immediately I started screaming. The biggest SPIDER I have ever seen in real life was crawling under the guest room door! I could NOT believe it was a spider! (It had to of been from the tarantula family). Usually it's just a cricket or some other bug that doesn't completely terrify me. I HATE spiders! They are my biggest fear and to have one that big in my house - I wasn't too happy about! Jordan grabbed a shoe as fast as he could and slowly opened the guest room door. The spider jumped out at him as if to attack and Jordan squished it with "MY" shoe. At that point I had already run down the hallway the opposite direction, screaming, leaving Taylor & everyone else behind to fend for themselves. Thank goodness Jordan was home!

The rest of the night Taylor kept telling me ALL about the BIG spider and asking me if I saw it. I told her, "Yes, I did. And it was scary!" She nodded her head, agreeing with me. She would whisper softly, "Big Spider in our house" and I would whisper back, "I know, but it's gone now."

Jordan was my hero once again. He even admitted that it was a pretty good size spider which means that it was HUGE! I was glad that he was brave enough to face it, but I didn't really like when he told me it won't be the last spider we will ever find in our house.....It sure as heck better be!

Taylor helping me blue tape the hallway....

How brave are we? This is right where we found the ugly spider! You just gotta keep going!

Trigger was a big help too!

Okay, who painted their name on the wall?

I can take a wild guess!

Good job Tay! Sorry it won't be staying that way very long!

I'll post pictures of the final product as soon as we get the main areas finished - which will hopefully be this week!

You have GOT to be kidding me. Okay I'm absolutely freaking out right now...I HATE spiders. I'm so glad you lived.
Okay I can't wait to see this finished product of this!! I'll be standing by...
Seriously Taylor is so addictive to me. And I know that sounds funny. But whenever I see a picture of her- I just want to see more! she is sooo dang cute. And you dress her so cute.
I just spent a long time reading through your blog- I rarely have time to read through people's blogs- I mostly look at pics and skim. But your writing is so great. I love your stories and personal situations. I loved your thoughts on staying positive as a mom. It's so hard at times YOU ARE RIGHT. But I shortly learned after having Ridge (my 3rd) that yelling and going crazy through out the day DOESN'T WORK! (dangit)haha. But I had a huge turn around and swore to myself I would not flood my life with unnecessary activities or 'stuff' that would cause unneeded stress, which then would cause me to be a crazy mean mom!! So SIMPLIFY is the word I like to use ALL OF THE TIME to remind myself of what I need to be doing with my life! IT'S NOT EASY BUT IT HAS TO BE DONE DURING THESE LITTLE BABY/TODDLER STAGES!!! you're such a cute mom!!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? SCARY!!! I am not afraid of spiders at all, but when they get to be the size of a rat, that's a whole other story! Isn't it wonderful to have a big, tough, husband to do all the scary stuff for you, and keep you safe! I love it! Also, the paint color you've chosen looks beautiful. I can't wait to come over and see it! Are you done with it yet? And have you painted the girls rooms too? Can't wait to see you!
