Memorial Day at our house consisted of spending time in our backyard.......surprise, surprise! I swear we spend more time back there than indoors sometimes! Jord woke up early and starting shoveling rock and MORE ROCK! Our AWESOME neighbors and friends, Jared and Jenny Burrough gave us all their extra rock from when they finished their backyard. It was the exact color that we needed and we were able to finish our ENTIRE backyard with the amount they gave us! Thank you SO VERY MUCH, Jared and Jenny - that was so sweet of you guys and we love our backyard even more!
Jordan spent a good 4 or 5 hours that day loading up his truck with rock, bringing it back to our house and unloading it in all the areas it needed to go and then racking it out to make it look picture perfect! What a guy! I feel a little guilty for saying this, but the girls and I just played in the pool and cheered him on while he worked hard in the hot sun. Don't get me wrong, I offered to help, but my Superman husband said he had it all under control! I can't believe that he accomplished all that work so quickly and all by himself......again I say, WHAT A GUY! There really isn't much I can do when the girls are awake, but next time I think I will pull my weight and push a couple loads of rock in the wheelbarrow. I did get the WORST sunburn on my shoulders that day, actually the worst sunburn I have ever gotten in my entire life. I guess that is some kind of punishment for not being a better helper! Regardless the yard looks great!
As always, we had a great meal for dinner. Jord grilled up some of his BBQ ribs and I made twice backed potatoes and baked beans. We don't mess around when it comes to food in this house! I love that my husband is such a good cook! I feel bad sometimes that he is so good and I am so not good, but I've decided that I am just going to learn as much as I can from him!
It was a nice relaxing day after that and we enjoyed so much getting to spend time together as a family! We usually go to the cemetery to visit Grandpa Joe's grave site, but this year it just didn't happen. My little cousin, Crew, that was born on Mother's Day has been in the hospital and even had to have a surgery for his tiny little heart. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with Joe, Natalie and the rest of the family during this hard trial they are going through. As I get older and experience more and more, I am constantly reminded that nothing is more important than family!
A nice finished look - ROCK!
Taylor likes to take Trigger's collar off and tease him with it, but don't ask me how she got it stuck around her arms like a backpack!
I know that I have shared this before, but Taylor's desire to wear her sister's clothes is starting to increase. This is currently her favorite shirt of Bentley's to wear. A little 0-3 months tank top with pink flowers on it. She wanted to wear it to church on Sunday, but I politely said she needed to pick something else.
Bentley showing off what a big girl she is with two teeth!
Playing in the backyard on Memorial Day!
Ready for some grub!
This is an example of Taylor dressing herself in her two-piece swimsuit. Those can be a little tricky!
Laying out & catching some rays! Trigger made me laugh so hard! I kept catching him laying on the girls towels. Out of the entire backyard he choose to lay down there. Almost like he thought it was there just for him!
This picture has some meaning to it. We were originally in our pajamas still when we started playing outside so I put Bentley in her walker (notice it in the background) to let her play. I ran inside to get her clothes to change her out of her pj's and came back outside to find her big sister spraying her with the hose. NICE! She was soaking wet and just sitting there in shock! Not crying, but very confused. I had a little discussion with Taylor and then we continued on with our day. The walker in this picture is trying to dry in the sun!
Little Miss Blue Tongue just chilling - Enjoying a sucker and wearing her daddy's shoes! She has such a hard life!
This is the swimsuit she wanted to wear. It's her old suit and is now Bentley's (NOTE: 3-6 month size)
I LOVE THIS LITTLE GIRL!

1 Thoughts to share!:
Okay, I just LOVE that Taylor can still squeeze into 3-6 month clothing. That cracks me up! And her little face in all of the pictures is like a look of accomplishment:) SO CUTE!!! And I LOVE little Bentley. Those teeth are too cute!
